Seems a long time
since we played Spartans fc whites at the start of the season to kick this run
to the semi final, could we make the final.
Today seen us at
saughton and facing stiff opposition in Tynecastle, s top team.
Having met each other
twice already this season and hutchie coming out on top on both occasions
confidence was running high.
Hutchie won the toss
and kicked the game off and proceeded to take the game straight to Tynecastle and within 5 minutes good play through the
middle seen Taylor play a defence splitting pass to brad who coolly rounded the
goalkeeper and slotted the ball home 1 –
0
A great start to the
semi final and hutchie up for this now looked for more and pressed on
Chances started to
flow early on and a great pass from jack Mac seen Ross pick the ball out wide
on the edge of the box and drive it back in the tynie defence tried to clear
but Taylor robbed the defender on the 18yrd line dribble in and beat the keeper
only to see his shot hit the post of the empty net.
This seem to spur on
tynie who tried to get back in to the game and pressed hard but the hutchie
defence held firm
Tynecastle won a
corner and it was driven in to the box and the tynie player got a free header
but cleared the bar
Tynecastle took
advantage from some slack play in the defence and broke quickly only to send
the shot sailing over the bar.
This seemed to wake
the colts back up and the game started to grind up in the midfield as both
teams tried to control the game however it was the colts that made better use
of the ball and this produced some nervous shooting but no goals
Tynie got a quick
break and only the quick work of our stand in keeper Kenny Gibson seen the
colts still in front
Hutchie got a free
kick just over the half way line and a perfectly floated cross from Jamie T
seen
Second half started
with both teams trying to control the midfield with out producing any real
threat to either goal but eventually it was hutchie who started to play the
better football.
A good cross from
This seen hutchie
start to exploit all the space in the midfield and soon Jamie sent in a
terrific shot that looked goal bound but just dipped over the bar
With this hutchie
stepped up a gear and only some good goalkeeping and some bad shooting seen the
score stay the same.
Hutchie were now in
control and started to play a nice passing game which seen Taylor through on
the goalkeeper but a last gasp tackle from the Tynecastle defender which could
have easily been deemed a penalty kept seen the ball break to Mickey who shot
wide
With all the chances
that were being missed you could have thought the scoring was over
But a good corner
whipped in by jack seen Taylor head the ball on and Bradley rixon found himself
time to shoot but the keeper could only parry the ball out and Bradley made
sure by blasting the loose ball high in to the net 3-0
Tynecastle tried to
rally late on with a strike from distance but a good save from Kenny seen him
turn the ball round the post and the defence who where solid all day cleared
the danger from the resulting corner
An excellent result
seen hutchie colts book there place in there first final.
WELL DONE LADS
